Grow your contact list and increase registrations by letting the masses do your marketing. Once you enable invitation forwarding, registrants will be able to enter their friend or coworkers' email during registration and invite them to sign up too. Invitees can forward invitations during registration, from an email, or even from the regret survey after they RSVP "no."

NOTE: This feature is only available in Classic events.

Forwarding During Registration
Let people send invitations to others when they reach the Registrant Information page.

NOTE: Even if your event is private, recipients of invitations forwarded during registration will still be able to register.

1 Activate Invitation Forwarding. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Event Details and, under General, select Event Configuration. Click Edit.

Scroll down to the Website & Registration section and check Invitation Forwarding.

Click Save.

2 Configure forwarding settings. Hover over Website & Registration and, under Registration, click Registration Settings. If you have multiple paths, click one.

Click Edit.

Scroll down to the Basic Features section and ensure "Invitation Forwarding" is switched to Enable. Enter the number of people, up to 10, that one registrant can forward invitations to.

If you have multiple invitation lists, select the one these new invitees will be added to. The invitation email from this list will be sent automatically when the registration is complete.

Click Save.

NOTE: If a registrant tries to forward the invitation to an invitee who is already added to an Invitation List in your event, that invitee will not receive the forwarded invitation email.

Forwarding from an Email
Invitees could forward your invitation like any other email, but then the recipient wouldn't get a personalized invite with their name. They also wouldn't be added to the invitation list, which could prevent them from registering. Follow the steps below to embed a data tag that will accomplish both.

NOTE: If your event is private, this data tag will not work. Additionally, if a registrant tries to forward the invitation to an invitee who is already added to an Invitation List in your event, that invitee will not receive the forwarded invitation email.

1 Activate Invitation Forwarding. Enable the Invitation Forwarding feature and assign an invitation list.

2 Open the invitation. Hover over Promotion & Communication and, under Email, select Event Emails.

If your event has multiple invitation lists, select one from the dropdown at the top.

Click Invitation. The Details tab opens by default. Click the Content tab to the right, then Edit

3 Insert the data tag. Click where you want to add the "Click here to forward invitation to others" link in the email. Then, select the Insert tab. Click User-added image in the Content section. When the Data Tag Selection pop-up opens, search for "forward" and check the box beside "Send to a Friend Link."

Click OK.

You'll see {[C-FORWARD LINK]} but recipients will see the following.

When they click the link, a webpage opens where they can enter their friend's contact info (these details are needed to populate any data tags and add the new contact to your invitation list and Address Book), and include a short note of up to 100 characters.

NOTE: This forwarding page inherits your website's theme but you can't change anything else.

Once they click Send, the new invitee receives your invitation.

Forwarding from the Regret Survey
You might be down an attendee, but don't let their declined invitation stop there. Let them forward the invite to others while completing the regret survey.

NOTE: If a registrant tries to forward the invitation to an invitee who is already added to an Invitation List in your event, that invitee will not receive the forwarded invitation email.

1 Activate Invitation Forwarding. Enable the Invitation Forwarding feature and assign an invitation list.

2 Access the regret survey. Hover over Website & Registration and, under Surveys, select Regret Survey.

3 Configure forwarding settings. The Questions tab opens by default. Select the neighboring tab, Page Setup, then click Edit.

Ensure "Invitees who decline can forward the invitation" is switched to Yes.

Select the number of people from the dropdown, up to 10, that one registrant can forward invitations to.

If you have multiple invitation lists, select the one these new invitees will be added to. The invitation email from this list will be sent automatically when the invitee finishes the survey.

Click Save.
