Hosting an event that's open to the public, but you still want to control the registration types or registration paths that are assigned to your invitees? Follow these steps to create a registration type or path-specific weblink.

1 Access your event's weblinks. Begin by selecting your event. Then, hover over Promotion & Communication and, under Web, click Weblinks.

2 Create a registration type-specific weblink. If you want to use a weblink to automatically assign invitees a specified registration type so they cannot select their own in Flex or Classic, create a type-specific weblink.

Click Create Link. Give the weblink a name and reference ID, if desired. Ensure "If invitees arrive from this link, they will go to the" is switched to Landing Page. Select which website page you want invitees to land on when they click the weblink, then select which registration type should be assigned to invitees who register through this link.

When you're done, click Save.

Regardless of whichever website page they're directed to, by registering through this link invitees will be automatically assigned the designated registration type and will see all of the products and fees associated with it.

Or, create a registration-path specific weblink. If you want to use a weblink to direct invitees down a specific registration path, where they can then select their own registration type in Flex or Classic, create a path-specific weblink.

Click Create Link. Give the weblink a name and reference ID, if desired. Ensure "If invitees arrive from this link, they will go to the" is switched to Registration Path. Select which website page you want invitees to land on when they click the weblink, then select which registration path should be assigned to invitees who register through this link.

When you're done, click Save.

By registering through this link, invitees will be directed to the first page of registration for that registration path.
