The online version of your event, also called the OEG, includes the same content as your CrowdCompass app. However, it has a few key differences:
 
  • Permissions - Attendees don't need to accept any permissions before they can access the OEG. App users will be prompted to accept push notification permissions upon first downloading your event. However, they will still be able to still access the event even if they choose to decline. Attendees will receive other in-app permission prompts only as needed.
  • Navigation Icons - In the OEG, navigation icons are accessible from the side nav only. In the app, icons show on the event home screen and side nav. If your event is using the Dynamic Event Guide, icons appear in the app's More tab.
  • Push Notifications - In the OEG, attendees who are actively viewing the site will receive push notifications as pop-up messages without accepting any permissions. In the app, only attendees who have enabled notifications will receive pop-up messages.
  • LoginIf an attendee using the OEG ends their browser session or has been logged in for 30 consecutive days, they will be logged out and must log in again. If the event is password-protected or hidden, attendees will need to reenter the event password as well. App users stay logged in, even if they close out of the app and return to it later, or have been logged in for 30 consecutive days.
  • Event Feed PostsFrom the OEG, attendees can post photos to the Event Feed without accepting any permissions. In the app, attendees must give the app access to their camera before they can share photos.
  • Featured Content - For events using the Dynamic Event Guide, in the app, attendees will see featured speakers, sessions, and sponsors. In the OEG, only featured sponsors are displayed.
  • Exporting Contacts - In the app, attendees can export and save their contacts from the event to their mobile device. In the OEG, this option is not available.
