Sub-questions are extensions of questions that attempt to get more detail on a particular answer. When your five-year-old follows your rousing explanation of why chocolate milk is brown with a "but why?" Congratulate them. They just used a sub-question.

Adding Sub-Questions to a Flex Event


1 Create a parent question. Begin by selecting your Flex event. Hover over Website & Registration and, under Registration, click Registration Process. Click Customize next to the page you want to add questions to.

Add a question to the canvas.

2 Add a sub-question. Hover over the ellipses in the top left corner of the parent question and click Add a Sub-Question.

Choose a sub-question type and continue with creating the sub-question.

Set up the sub-question logic. In the additional settings to the right of the canvas, scroll down to the Logic section and click Sub-Question Logic. Click on the dropdown to select which answers will make this sub-question visible.

Click Publish.
 
Adding Sub-Questions to a Classic Event

1 Create a question. Begin by selecting your event. Locate the correct question tab, then create the questions.


2 Associate the question as a sub-question. Drag and drop the sub-question onto the parent question.

When the pop-up appears, associate the sub-question to the appropriate answers by checking the boxes next to each one.

Click Save when you're done.

3 Choose the design and how the question will display, if necessary. Customize how and where the question will display during registration.


Adding Sub-Questions to an Express Event
 
1 Create a question. Begin by selecting your Express event, then click Website & Registration in the navigation bar. Under Registration, click Customize. Add your question.
 

the question you want to make a sub-question, hover over it, and click Settings. Click Convert to Sub-Question.

Select the parent question from the dropdown, then 
associate the sub-question to the appropriate answers by checking the boxes next to each one.

Click Save.
