You can connect your contacts with their spouses, relatives, and family members' contact records in your Address Book individually or in bulk. Too many for your busy schedule? Have your invitees do the work for you.

Managing Related Contacts Individually

1 Access the Related Contacts tab. On the Contacts page of your Address Book, search for you contact and click their name. The Details tab opens by default. Click the rightmost tab, Related Contacts.

2 Connect contacts from the Address Book together. Click Add from Address Book. Search for the contact you want to connect, and check the box to the left of their name.

Click Add Selected.

Or add related contacts that are outside of your Address Book. Add new related contacts by clicking Create Contact.... Enter the new contact's name and email address, then click Create and Add. The Add only option will add the contact to the Address Book without creating a new related contact.

3 Remove a contact's relationships. Check the box to the left of the related contact, then click Remove Selected.

Click Confirm. The contact will not be removed for the Address Book.

Importing Related Contacts

Cvent allows you to import 3,000 related contacts at once. Each row of the import will connect two contacts together.

1 Access the Related Contact Import. Begin by clicking Contacts in the top right. Hover over Actions, and click Import Related Contacts.

2 Download the sample file. Click Download a file, and save the sample.

Locate it on your computer or network. Then right click, hover over Open with, and select Microsoft Office Excel.

3 Prepare your data. Do not delete anything in the first row. These are the column headers. All other rows should contain specific values for each column.

After adding your data, save the spreadsheet as a text file (.txt) or Excel workbook (.xls or .xlsx).

4 Import the file. Back in Cvent, click Browse... to locate the file on your computer or network. Once you're done, click Next.

Map your columns to the Cvent fields and click Next again.
