If you work in national or global sales, no doubt you've wished you could peek into a planner's account and see what they see, especially when your commission is at stake. Knowing how they send or copy you on RFPs can help when it's time for that friendly nudge and is equally important as knowing what actions you can perform in the Cvent Supplier Network.

What Planners Can Do

NOTE: These are additional features. Planners may not have purchased them all.

  • Tracking promotions, negotiated rates, and credit. When your venues offer planner-exclusive promotions, promise a low rate, or refund in credit when an event gets cancelled, planners can track it in their account. Next time they need a venue, they can filter by these deals or look for the label on the listing. These labels aren't visible to everyone using the Supplier Network, just the planner who added them.

  • Tagging favorite venues and features. When planners are browsing the Supplier Network, labels and filters help them find venues they've marked as preferred or tagged with a category, like "pet-friendly," "green," or "waterfront." They aren't visible to everyone using the Supplier Network, just the planner who added them.

What You Can Do
As an NSO it is essential to keep track of the RFPs you are copied on to maintain and strengthen your relationship with event planners. Keep in mind the following recommendations:

  • View the RFPs you were specifically added to. If you are a registered Cvent Supplier Network user and you have access to all the RFPs received by your organization, you can set up a custom view to only see RFPs you were copied on by planners.

NOTE: Don't have a user account? No worries, you can still view and manage the RFPs you were copied on, free of charge.

  • Keep track of the planners who copied you on their RFPs. If you have a registered user account with full access to reporting, you can run venue reports to find out which planners are adding you to their RFPs.
  • Change the NSO. Not the right NSO for the job? Reassign the lead or simply remove yourself entirely straight from the RFP notification email.
