Cvent allows you to merge up to three duplicate contacts into one, deleting the irrelevant information in the process. This helps your Address Book stay organized, keeping redundant data at a minimum and making marketing your event or survey more efficient.

1 Locate duplicates in your Address Book. Click the  icon in the top-right, then select Contacts from the dropdown. Click Find Duplicates. Select one or two fields to use for finding duplicate contacts, then click Search. A new contact group titled "Duplicate Contacts" will be created.

Check the box next to any duplicates you want to merge, then hover over Actions and click Merge.

2 Merge the records. Click Select All to include only that contact's information, or individually choose values from each record by using the radio buttons.

The Master Record will retain its audit history, such as how the contact was created and the last modification date, opt-out preferences, membership type, and any attached contact notes.

If the individual contacts have registered for different events, the merged record will contain a combined history of all event data. If the individual contacts have registered for any of the same events, you can select which event registration record you'd like to keep.

 
NOTE: When merging contact records, registration data is never removed from the event itself. Any event registration data not selected during the merge process will still exist in the event, but will no longer be linked to a contact in the address book.

Select all appears under the name of the mergable contact
 
 
NOTE: Review your selections. A merge cannot be reversed.

Click Merge, then Confirm.
