Plans change, things come up, and the unexpected happens. By default, Cvent gives all registrants the ability to cancel their registration, but, if the option was disabled or the registrant is unable to do so, you can always unregister them yourself individually or in bulk.
 
NOTE: Unregistering someone will unregister all of their guests as well.

Unregistering Invitees Individually

1 Access the Invitee Details page. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Invitee Management and, under Manage, click Invitees & Registrants. Search for the registrant and click the appropriate name.

2 Unregister the registrant in Classic. Hover over Registration and click Unregister.

If you've added a refund policy, a sentence below the header will notify you of the amount that will be returned to the registrant.
If an invitee that took advantage of early bird pricing unregisters, Cvent compares the maximum refund amount in the early bird fee itself with the refund policy at the time of cancellation, and refunds the smaller amount. To modify the refund, click Edit Amounts.

Enter a new amount in the Refund Amount fields and click Save.

Back on the Cancellation Information page, ensure the box at the bottom to send an email confirming their cancellation is checked.

Once you're done, click Finish.

Or, unregister the registrant in Flex. Hover over Registration and click Unregister.

If you've added a added a refund policy, a sentence below the header will notify you that a refund will be returned to the registrant.
To modify the refund, click Edit Amounts.

Enter a new amount in the Refund Amount field and click Save Amounts.

Once you're done, click Submit.

3 Record an offline refund, if necessary. If the registrant originally paid online, their credit card will automatically be refunded. If the registrant paid another way, you should still record the offline refund to ensure accurate reports.

After modifying a registration, you're taken to the Details tab. Click the rightmost tab, Orders & Payments.

Hover over Actions and select Submit Refund.

Enter the Amount that has been refunded. Specify how the registrant was reimbursed with the Method dropdown and enter the date that the transaction was made.

Once you're done, click Submit.


Unregistering Invitees in Bulk
 

1 Access the Invitee Details page. Begin by selecting your event. Hover over Invitee Management and, under Manage, click Invitees & Registrants

2 Unregister invitees. Check the boxes next to the registrants' names. Hover over the Change Status To dropdown in the top-right, then click Unregister.

 
NOTE: Only registrants in Accepted or Pending Approval status can be unregistered.

Choose whether or not you want to send the Cancellation Confirmation email to these registrants, then click Confirm.


3 Refund the registrants, if necessary. If the registrant paid with an online payment method, registration fees will be refunded automatically based on the refund policy of the event.

If the registrant originally paid with an offline payment method, don't forget to submit the refund.

 
NOTE: You can unregister up to 1,000 registrants in bulk.
